Social Media & Messaging Privacy Policy

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and describes how we handle comments and direct messages on our social media accounts, including data accessed through Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram) APIs.

What we collect

We use an internal moderation tool to read and respond to comments and direct messages sent to our own Facebook Page and Instagram account. When you comment on our posts or ads, or message our accounts, this tool accesses:

  • The content of your comment or message
  • Your public profile name and platform-assigned identifier
  • The post or ad your comment relates to

We only access activity on our own social media accounts. We do not access your profile, your other activity, or any account you have not used to contact us.

How we use it

This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and to moderate our own pages — for example, answering a product question or hiding spam. Every reply is written and sent by a member of our team; nothing is sent automatically.

We never sell this information or share it with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond responding to you.

How long we keep it

Message and comment content is retained in our systems for a maximum of 14 days after a conversation is closed, after which it is automatically and permanently deleted. Your original comments and messages on Facebook or Instagram are not affected by our deletion and remain under your control on those platforms.

Requesting deletion

To request deletion of any data we hold about your social media interactions with us, email support@sleepsake.com.au from any address, telling us the platform and the name you contacted us under. We will confirm once it has been actioned, normally within 7 days.
